A Word from the Principal

Kia Ora e te Whanau,

Welcome back to Term Two. I hope you were able to have some quality family time over the school break.

We have many events this term with students already practicing for the Cross Country in Week 3. Students are encouraged to bring their sports shoes with them each day so that they can wear them during the practice. Those students with the sports uniform are also able to bring this to get changed into.

Each Friday at 9am, a class attends Mass in the Chapel. As a school of special Catholic Character, we emphasise the importance of building a relationship with Christ through prayer and faith experiences. This week Room 3 will be attending Mass. Please feel free to join with the children to attend Mass – Parents and Grandparents are welcome.

The Parish has sent a letter to school families regarding Attendance Dues. The Parish has emphasised that there is a lot owing to the Diocese. These are compulsory payments for education, and I encourage families to establish weekly payments to assist in reducing the amount owing.

On Friday 4 June, St Albans Catholic will be having a Teachers Only Day in order for staff to participate in some professional development. We hope this gives you adequate time to make alternative arrangements. The school will also be closed on Monday 7 June due to Queen's Birthday - public holiday.

This week some information will be sent home regarding the Friday Sausage Sizzle. We are very thankful for Emma and Tamara organising the sausage sizzle most Fridays. We are looking for more helpers this term to assist with the Friday Sausage Sizzle If you are able to help this term, please let me know. There is a timetable on the staffroom window if you would like to check available dates.
