New Entrant Information

Welcome to St Albans Catholic School

We look forward to a long and happy association with both you and your child.

Starting school is both an exciting and busy time so I hope you find the following information helpful.

Pre-School Visits

As part of the enrolment process, times will be arranged for you and your child to have school visits.

Please ensure your child has a:

  • healthy morning tea/snack and a packed lunch on the appropriate days as well as a named drink bottle with water.
  • sunhat, if your child’s visit is during Term 1 or 4.

School uniform is not required for school visits.

Catholic Special Character

Listed below are the prayers that are used in Room One and it would be desirable if your child could be familiar with them.  Additionally, your child will occasionally come home with their Religious Education Workbook.

Class Prayer Pack
Your child may occasionally come home with the Room One Class Prayer Pack.  This will include such things as Bible stories, a Mass book, statue, cloth and prayer cards. This Prayer Pack provides an opportunity for you to join together in a special family prayer time. It is used for the week, please return on Friday morning.

Prayers

Morning Prayer

God, my loving Creator, this new day is for you.

 Amen

Our Father (The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

thy will be done on earth,

as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

Amen

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace,

the Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women.

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, mother of God,

Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Amen

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.

Amen

Grace Before Meals

For what we are about to receive, may the Lord make us truly thankful.

Amen

Afternoon Prayer

Thank you for this happy day, for all our work and all our play.

Guide us on our homeward way, God our loving Father.

 Amen
