Kia Ora e te Whanau,
Thank you to all parents and grandparents who were able to come and support the children at their swimming sports yesterday. The juniors were able to showcase their
swimming skills and their confidence in the water. The Year 4 to 6 students competed either in width, 25m or 50m races. Students who compete in the 50m races are able to
qualify for the North Zone Swimming Competition. Miss Barker will be looking at the results over the next week, to name the team for this competition. The students swimming ability was very impressive and it was great to see many students competing in the 25m and 50m races.
This morning the children attended Mass in the library to celebrate Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday begins the Season of Lent. It is a time that we pay special attention to prayer, fasting and almsgiving. We hope that you can support the Season of Lent through doing small activities with your children –there were some suggestions in last week’s RE Newsletter. For example, 10 Cent Tuesdays ~ On Tuesdays, the children are encouraged to bringing 10 cent coins to donate to the Caritas Lenten appeal.
Nga mihi nui,
Abraham Atherton
